I just wanted to take a minute and give thanks to all the folks who came out to the Alberta Street Fair and Multnomah Days the past 2 weekends. It was a pleasure meeting all of you and I'm thankful and appreciative of the support I've received so far for this project!
I have a few events lined up in the next few months that I'll send more info out about once things get solidified. As of now, I'll be displaying a small portion of Dead Cities at Bare Bones Cafe on Belmont starting September 2nd. This will be for their "First Friday" opening featuring a couple local artists and a band playing in the back room. The event runs from 6-9 pm, and I'll be sure to send out a link to the facebook event page in the coming weeks. My work will be hanging for the entire month of September so if you miss the opening you can always stop by to take a look later on.
In October I will have a few images up for the On Democracy show at Newspace in SE Portland. The selections for the show were made by Claartje van Dijk, Assistant Curator for the International Center for Photography in New York. Of the 5 pieces I submitted, 4 of them were chosen to be a part of the show. I'm very excited to be a part of this event!
I know I talked to a few of you about custom prints, so if anyone's interested feel free to email me directly and we can make it happen. I'm a portland resident so I'm available any time to put something together for you - prints, mounting, frames etc. deadcitiesphoto[at]gmail.com
Thanks again to everyone for braving the heat and coming by to chat at the street fairs. It's been a pleasure!
Stay curious my friends,
Mike - Dead Cities Photo
